Dear crochet (or not) fellows, the first day of the Mystery Cal has arrived and I am superexcited (and a little bit nervous too)! What about you? Can’t wait to begin? If so, I shouldn’t keep you any longer – first clues are here! Have fun 😉

What you need
– Cotton yarn (or any other yarn you prefer) in colour Α & C
* about the colours take a look at the previous post
– crochet hook for yarn you use
– scissors
– tapestry needle
– stitch marker or thread of yarn (whatever works for you) as you will work in continuous rounds (spiral)
– soft toy stuffing
Abbreviations (US Terms)
mr – magic ring
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
inc3 – increase: work 3 sc in same stitch
dec3tog – decrease 3 sc together *Tip: do this by putting your hook only through the front loops of the stitches
rnd(s) – round(s)
(…) – number of stitches in this round
[] x … – repeat instructions within [] x … times
Mystery Cal | Part 1
Clue 1:
With colour Α, make 2
Rnd 1. 4sc in mr (4)
Rnd 2. [inc3] x 4 (12)
Rnd 3. in back loops only: 12sc (12)
Rnd 4. – 16. (13 rnds) 12sc (12)
Rnd 17. in back loops only: 12sc (12) *Stuff
Rnd 18. [dec3tog] x 4 (4)
Fasten off and cut the yarn leaving a long tail – we will need this later.
1. When you finish rnd 1, do not pull the yarn tail too tightly. This way, it’s easier to put your hook in the 1st sc (for rnd 2). Work 3sc in each stitch. 2. Pull the yarn tail tightly when you finish rnd 2. For rnd 3, work only in back loops.
Rnd 18: decrease 3 sc together by putting your hook only through the front loops of these 3 sc. Yarn over and pull through 3 loops on hook (2 loops on hook). Yarn over and pull through both loops on hook.
Clue 2:
With colour A, make 1
Rnd 1. 4sc in mr (4)
Rnd 2. [inc3] x 4 (12)
Rnd 3. [sc, inc3, sc] x 4 (20)
Rnd 4. in back loops only: 20sc (20)
Rnd 5. – 8. (4 rnds) 20sc (20)
Rnd 9. in back loops only: 20sc (20)
Rnd 10. [sc, dec3tog, sc] x 4 (12) *Start stuffing
Rnd 11. – 14. (4 rnds) 12sc (12)
Fasten off and cut the yarn leaving a long tail – we will need this later.
Clue 3:
With colour C, make 1
1. Ch 10
2. Starting in the 2nd ch from hook, work 9sc along the chain, then ch 1. Turn.
3. 9sc
