Little monster amigurumi

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about creating my own amigurumi patterns. (I think that’s a dream that most crocheters are sharing…) So, a few weeks ago I decided to give it a go and made some sketches having a little monster in mind. After spending many hours experimenting, crocheting and starting all over again, I finally finished a few! And now it’s time to share the first one I made with you. Oh, I’m so superexcited 🙂 I hope you will like this little monster amigurumi just as I do! Have fun!

*Please keep in mind that I really love what I’m doing and that’s why I’m putting a lot of effort and time to share this pattern for free. So, allow me to mention that this pattern is for personal use only and may not, in parts or in whole, be reproduced, sold, distributed or used for commercial purposes without authorization. You can sell the finished item, but please credit IwannaBeHara as the designer. You can share this pattern only with a link to this post.

Thank you for respecting my work!

To make this little monster amigurumi, you will need
– Cotton yarn (or any yarn you like) in 5 colours:

(A) and (B) for socks, (C) for body, a small amount of a) black for mouth and eye and b) white for teeth and eye (I used 100% Cotton yarn, 50g/125m | 1.75oz/137yds)

– crochet hook (I used 3mm – UK: 11 / US: 2-3)

– stitch marker or a thread of yarn, whatever works for you

– scissors

– tapestry needle

– soft toy stuffing

Notes

– This little monster is worked in a spiral (continuous rounds without joining). So, don’t forget to mark your rounds!

– You’ ll start from the legs and continue upwards. Stuff firmly as you go.

– First make the teeth and the eye to have them done when it comes to sewing them to the body.

– Finished size depends on the yarn and hook you are using. To give you an idea, this one is about 19cm (7 1/2 in) tall and 5cm (2 in) wide.

Hair

Cut 1 little thread from every colour you used to crochet the little monster amigurumi. They should have the same length. Attach them to the head by pulling them with the hook through the last round. Make a knot. Cut the yarn to the preferred length.

If you wish, you can split (gently) every thread with your tapestry needle to make the hair look more curly.
